Have you sent the blank email that should have attachment with it? Gmail Labs has posted a new tool called “Forgotten attachment detector”. It helps to prevent users who wish to send the attachment with the mail, but forgot about it. When you typed “I’ve attached” (Or “I have attached”) in the content, and forgot to include the attachment, Gmail will prompt you. It reminds you and prevent stupid things like “recall email” happened.

Currently it only works when you typed “I’ve attached” (Or “I have attached”) in the content, but it is pretty sure Google can add some intelligent or learning feature to this detector.

To enable the function, click “Settings” on the Gmail account. Click “Labs” tab and choose to enable “Forgotten attachment detector”. Make sure you have clicked “Save changes” to apply the settings. Note this feature can be found when you are using English (US) interface of Gmail only.
