How to: Download 720p HD YouTube video to hard disk easily

YouTube now supports 720p high definition videos. The video quality and experience got so much better with wide screen and crystal clear detail. I have searched lots of 720p HD video on YouTube, and found some of them are interesting.

I wanna to keep those videos in my hard disk, but the old java bookmarklet available on the internet can only download the high quality, but not the true 720p HD video to the hard disk. But, it can be easily changed to enable the download of YouTube video in HD.

I have already modified the java bookmarklet so you can just follow the steps below.

Step 1. Drag or add this link: Download as HD to your browser’s bookmark folder.

Step 2. Watch those YouTube video that supports 720p HD resolution.

Step 3. In the future, call the bookmarklet from the bookmark folder. You will be able to see “Download as HD” below the video information

Step 4. Right click and choose “Save Link As”

Step 5. File Browser will pop up. Save it as any name you want. Remember to put “.mp4″ in the end.

To download those videos that does not supports 720p HD resolution, you can do this,

Step 1. Drag or add this link: Download as MP4 to your browser’s bookmark folder.

Step 2. In the future, call the bookmarklet from the bookmark folder when you are watching videos. You will be able to see “Download as MP4″ below the video information

Step 3. Right click and choose “Save Link As”.

Step 4. File Browser will pop up. Save it as any name you want. Remember to put “.mp4″ in the end.
