Internet in China is “protected” by the virtual Chinese Great Wall. The “protected” internet censors all the sensitive information about the government. You won’t be able to read any information about anti-government, protests, and more. I think you probably understand that Chinese Great Wall makes Chinese cannot trutly enjoy the full internet.

Okay. If you don’t understand, try to install this China Channel Firefox Add-On to the Firefox browser. It bascially takes you to China virtually. After installed the plugin, you will see a big toolbar. Select the CHINA CHANNEL and click Go. Try a few times until you see “Welcome to China!” and your location is “China”. You will be disconnected suddenly when you search some sensitive information. Try that and understand the pain of censored internet.
