YouTube adds HTML5 player and hope we can say goodbye to Flash soon

YouTube has announced they will support HTML5 video in the future, and they have just moved a huge step forward. They have already added the HTML5 Player. Click here to join the beta first, then you will have a different YouTube player. If the video supports HTML5 (like this one), the player will not load the Flash version. It will load the HTML5 version like pictured above.

Note it only supports Google Chrome, Safari version 4 or above, Microsoft Internet Explorer with Chrome Frame installed. Firefox is not supported. When using the HTML5 video player, some of the video’s quality may not be as good as the Flash version. But, I prefer HTML5 rather than Flash. It takes much less system resources and runs faster. I hope HTML5 will completely replace Flash in the future.
