Wonder why TechCrunch, Gizmodo and other big sites are always on top of Digg?

Because they are big companies with lots of people. Basic rule to get on the front page of social news websites is to get as many votes as you can. I said it is very hard to get to the front page even the news or passages are first and exclusive in the world. But, you can notice that TechCrunch, Gizmodo, Engadget and other big sites always can make their stories to the front page of Digg.

To do so, TechCrunch and Gawker (who owns Gizmodo) formed a “Digg Club”. With lots of members (employees) in the club, they need to help to digg the stories. Since these are big companies, it is pretty easy to gain lots of diggs once the stories are submitted. Unless the stories are big crap, other digg members will digg it. Since their “Digg Club” can help to raise the submitted stories quickly, they always win.

It is what we call “marketing”. Or should we say “Digg Army”? Anyways, I’ve given up for the Digg thing. I know I cannot make winandmac.com to the front page of Digg anymore. I will just upload the things that are new and interesting on winandmac.com. I don’t want to care about it anymore. But, I still need your support. Thanks!
