What will you do if you see something new in iPhone’s Installer.app? Will you click Install it without thinking what it is? In the recent news, the JMCO sources (http://jmwiki.com/repo) release a malicious program called “1.1.3 prep”. Luckily winandmac.com readers and also modmyifone.com finds out it is a dangerous program which will remove iPhone’s files and makes other unofficial applications not working.
This news really hurts the whole iPhone community. And, it should be considered as a warning sign of iPhone’s unofficial applications. I am not saying do not install any unofficial applications. All of us should beware of iPhone unofficial applications and install with caution. Do not install unknown applications. If you don’t clear about it, just don’t install it.
Also, remember to backup your iPhone frequently. To backup your iPhone, it is easy with SSH portal. You can backup the SMS, Notes and any other personal database from iPhone’s “/var/root/Media” and “/var/root/Library”.
Happy hacking and beware of those unknown iPhone unofficial applications. There is no reason to blame others if hackings goes wrong.
