$15 new iToner uses free guide to add custom ringtone. Why pay for it?
Don’t want to pay for the iTunes store for free custom ringtones? iToner is one of the easy way to customize your iPhone ringtones. You just drag the files in the program, click sync and you’re ready to go. They released iToner 1.0.3 which supports iPhone 1.1.1. But, the program is not free. (pay for free custom ringtone…) We tested and we found iToner just used the free guide available everywhere on the internet to make it work. We found that iToner created the m4r files and also edited in Ringtones.plist. You can always do it for free by following the steps in the ultimate unlock guide (stage 4).

In addition, you can now set your ringtones using the new SendSong. This is easier without editing any files. You only need to add those ringtone in your iTunes playlist, sync it to iPhone than launch the SendSong program in iPhone, click send it to ringtones. Since you run directly on the iPhone, it doesn’t matter you use Windows or Mac OS X.

(This is pretty annoying. And we know you use the free method all around the internet and charge us $15.)
SendSong actually add custom free ringtone using the same way that iToner uses (except SendSong won’t accept mp3 files for ringtones). It is definitely more freeware able to add the free custom ringtone very soon. So, why pay $15 for it? Hmmm. I think because it accept mp3 files. True? Easier than converting by yourself, right? (Follow step 1 - 3). And you don’t need to hack or go inside your iPhone, quick and easy.
We wish you to DIY and save some money for new songs from iTunes Store.
