The first iPhone worm ikee targets to the jailbroken iPhone users who didn’t change the default password only. And it would only change the wallpaper to Rick Astley rickroll and nothing else. It is “funny” and seems harmless.
Now, the new iPhone worm appears. Similar to the first worm ikee, this ikee.B only affects those jailbroken iPhone that has not changed their SSH default password. The infected iPhone would be controlled by remote hackers. Hackers would be able to access the iPhone details and it would be dangerous. Currently it affects users at Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, Austria, and Hungary.
I wrote an article when the first iPhone worm appears. It also have tips to avoid opening SSH when it is not necessary. I hope everyone would read it and understand the tips. And once again, it is important to know that these worms won’t affect non-jailbroken iPhone. It also don’t affect those jailbroken iPhones without SSH installed or default SSH password is changed.
