Copy and paste function is already here in the current firmware 2.2.1. Users simply install Clippy from Cydia. As you may know, it requires jailbreak to make it work. Apple (finally) brings the copy and paste to become official in firmware 3.0. Does it mean Clippy will die? Firmware 3.0 final will be there less than 3 days.
Ryan Petrich, developer of Clippy, is now working for a new project. It is integrated with copy and paste function in firmware 3.0. Users select the text and choose “correct” to check the spelling. It may not be called as “Clippy” anymore but it seems useful. I am hoping Ryan can write a program to store all the copied text, and let us to choose which one to paste.
