First iPhone OS 3.0 jailbreak tool PwnageTool 3.0 is released yesterday. It only works in Mac. It also requires complete restoration of iPhone. Some people would like to wait for QuickPwn 3.0 which can jailbreak iPhone/iPod Touch directly by following simple and quick steps.
It seems iPhone Dev Team won’t release QuickPwn 3.0 that soon. But, they provides another new tool called redsn0w 0.7. It works similar to QuickPwn, but it has a simple interface. It works for iPhone 2G/3G and iPod Touch 1G/2G. You can download it at here for Windows or here for Mac. Note it won’t work for the new iPhone 3GS.
Note redsn0w does not contain iPhone 3G software unlock. Hence if you are using iPhone 3G that has applied software unlock yellowsn0w, you should not update now. You will need to wait when redsn0w is released. redsn0w contains iPhone 2G software unlock which will be done during the jailbreak process.
Most people can enjoy the iPhone OS 3.0 with jailbreak and unofficial goodies now.
