In the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, researchers has demonstrated how to control any users’ iPhone via malicious SMS. Most media focus on the iPhone too much, which makes some people think only iPhone users are affected, but it’s not actually.

All the smartphone including Android and Windows Mobile are vulnerable. Once you have received the SMS and read it, your phone is dead. Later the hackers can control your phone calls and text messages, or even download any data from your phone. The degree of control depends on how the phone handle SMS.

Researchers has notified Apple about the problem. It has been 6 weeks now and there is still no patch. While you may be so scared that turn off the phone immediately, let’s hope all phone manufacturers will deliver the fix as soon as possible.
