Windows 7 is coming soon and we all have high expectations. Media have the chance to try the Windows 7 early, and they are comparing it with Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard does not have huge changes in the outlook, but it is improved in the inside with full 64bit support. Windows 7 has many UI enhancements and internal improvements, but the speed test results seems not as good as Snow Leopard. According to the test carried by CNET, Snow Leopard is faster in most of the general performance areas.
CNET used the 2008 MacBook Pro to test these 2 platforms. Although Snow Leopard seems better than Windows 7, CNET noted the Snow Leopard get the poor results in gaming. The graphic performance results are actually better in Windows 7. That means Windows 7 is good for gaming. Does it really means if you don’t play games, you should choose a Mac?
Mac computers can install both Windows and Mac easily, where PC computers can only install Windows and needs complicated steps to hack and install the Mac OS X. That’s why I would choose the Mac, personally.

That comparison is a such a load of crap
A) You cant compare any 2 operating systems, based on application performance itself. There are huge set of benchmarks, from kernel level to networking abilities to graphics layer and many more..
B) The applications you compare have to be equally engineered in the right manner to equate results. one small example- 32 bit or 64 bit, how the app was coded to leverage the power of the Operating system and the hardware
C) Windows is good in some, but so is Mac. Overall Mac does not enjoy the support of the gaming community purely cause of commercial reasons, as much as the Windows platform, hence the performance issue and lack of decent titles – released at par with the rest of the community.
D) Do you really think CNET has the ability to be as hardcore a techie at developer level to evaluate what is better…you should try look at better tech sites like http://www.anandtech.com, and before you start thinking otherwise – no i am not a blogger or promoting anyone.
Desperation. Oh well.
