busykill,
Hope you will not. But if yes, I think flashing baseband can help to restore it to 1.1.1.
Tell me if you are unluckily, I will be there to help.

any idea if this new firmware will brick previously 1.1.1 unlocked phones?
10. admin replies at 10th November 2007, 12:42 am :
Randy,
Sorry to say that. Even the 1.1.2 secpack is there to download, the current virgin and flash baseband method will not work for iPhone 1.1.2. You will hang during the process. There is no way out for these iPhones.
But the great news is, the iPhone dev team is working hard now. And it looks something big will be there very very soon.

The iPhone version 1.1.2 has been successfully broken.
I have very little role to play in it. I guess I just got lucky to identify the correct third party softwares created by various developers and the iphone dev team.. combined with a couple of patches.. it’s all cool, unlocked and pretty stable.
Here are the instructions:
Upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 safely
THIS SHOULD ONLY BE DONE FOR iPHONES WHICH WERE BOUGHT BEFORE NOVEMBER 9TH AND CAME OUT OF THE BOX AT 1.1.1 OR EARLIER. IT WILL DAMAGE PHONES RUNNING OUT OF THE BOX 1.1.2!!!
Please be aware that you will lose the ability to use EDGE (unless you are on O2) until we find a workaround for this.
Benefits of upgrading though include:
* No more unreadable messages
* SMS from alphanumeric senders works (sms sent from banks, websites, carriers, …)
* The phone numbers within the SMS are recognized and the SMS is linked to the iPhone contact list
Step 1: Make sure your phone is disconnected from your computer but connected to your WiFi network
Step 2: Using Installer, go to Packages, Tweaks 1.1.1 and then select OkToPrep on your iPhone and Install it by pressig the Install button at the top right of the screen. You MUST ensure that the phone says ‘It is now safe to update 1.1.2′
Step 3: Now connect the phone to your computer with the USB cable and start iTunes
Step 4: Click ‘Update’ to update the phone to 1.1.2
Step 5: Download the 1.1.2 Jailbreak File from http://jailbreak12.huafrid.com
Step 6: Close iTunes
Step 7: Connect your device to your computer
Step 8: If you are on Windows - you will need to have Java installed.
Step 9: On Windows, once you have installed Java, double click on windows.bat, on Mac, double click on jailbreak.jar
Step 10: Follow the on screen instructions, make sure ‘enable ssh’ is TICKED
Step 11: Now your iPhone should be jailbroken
Step 12: Settings >> General >> AutoLock >> Set it to Never
Step 13: Ensure you access YouTube immediately.
Step 14: Now start Installer App, click on ‘Sources’, Click Edit and then Add, and then add http://rep.frenchiphone.com in the Source list.
Step 15: Click on Packages and then All Packages and Install anySIM 1.2.1u
Step 16: Click on Packages and then All Packages and BSD Subsystem then Install
Step 17: Settings >> General >> Airplane Mode >> Set it to On (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!)
Step 18: Now start AnySIM (it will be on your home screen) and follow the prompts
Step 19: If you’re not in the UK or US, start Installer, Click All Packages, and launch iWorld, following the prompts.
iWorld would add the much needed stability. Without it, springboard usually hangs when used with unsupported operators.
CONGRATS! You’re unlocked
