iPhone custom firmware (pwned) now available

You can’t believe how great crazy the iPhone Dev Team is. They have released the iPhone custom firmware tool. (We called it iPhone PWNED). The tool can help to patch the firmware file we downloaded in iTunes (which is like iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw). After all, go into iTunes and choose to restore iPhone with the patched firmware.

This is extremely useful because you do not need to run any tools like ZiPhone or iNdependence in the end. Once you restore your iPhone, it will be in jailbroken and unlocked state. Easy and fast. They said for future version of firmware will also work. Looks like no more waiting for jailbreak and unlock.

      gil,

Oh. You can restore your iPhone completely by putting it into DFU mode (check out the iPhone Ultimate Guide).

Click restore and let it restore as default 1.1.4.

After all, use ZiPhone to jailbreak and unlock it.
