If you have added JMCO sources to Installer.app, you may probably see “1.1.3 prep” in the recent updates. iPhone next firmware 1.1.3 is not yet released (at the time I posted this post), the current firmware is 1.1.2. This little UPDATE wrote “Install this before updating to the new 1.1.3 firmware”, but you cannot see the update from iTunes now since it is not officially released.
You may probably saw something similar when the time iPhone 1.1.2 firmware is not officially released. This looks like the history of new firmware jailbroken before it is officially released happens again. To jailbreak iPhone 1.1.2, you need to install “1.1.2 prep” from Installer. iPhone 1.1.3 is a next firmware update which will break the unofficial 3rd party native apps and also the unlock program. If this “1.1.3 prep” really works, it means iPhone 1.1.3 can be jailbroken which makes installation of unofficial apps possible. And those unofficial apps may probably works for iPhone 1.1.3. Good news for iPhone users.

You should post a list of Installer.app sources. I did a quick search and came up with a very short list on the Google which was burried in a news post and kind of old. I also did a search for JMCO…nada.

It has come to my attention that the people responsible for the JMCO source jmwiki.com have internially created a malicious source with the sole intention of mucking up people’s iPhones.
This source adds an app in installer that pretends to be an update of erica’s utilities. The app appears in installer as 113 prep.
Once installed all this app does is it says “shoes.” When uninstalled this app removes a lot of files from the /bin directory on the iphone, breaking valid apps like sendfile and other erica utilities.
ModMyiFone recommends that you DO NOT install 113 prep. We further recommend that you abandon the use of the JMCO source and remove it from your installer app.
It is a shame to see that people in our community are set on causing problems for others, their actions are not admirable.
Help us get out the word to everyone as quickly as possible
