Website which uses Flash as the whole content may be disconnected from the whole world. In the past, Google and Yahoo! search engine robot could not index these sites. It is because the whole content is all Flash, the robot do not know how to read it.
Adobe has released an announcement saying search engines are now able to index static text and links within Flash SWF files. However, for rich internet applications and dynamic content, the search engines still cannot index it.
Note both Google and Yahoo! cannot index everything embedded in Flash SWF files. Also, for FLV Flash files, since most of them are videos, Google and Yahoo! will not index the content embedded.
The announcement still considered as the breakthrough. Flash developers has been waiting for this so long. Their interactive and cool Flash sites can now be discovered by search engines.
