Faster by 40%-70%: OpenGL Benchmark of iPhone 3G vs 3GS

Apple said iPhone 3GS is faster, but how fast it can be? Some people have done the benchmark of 3GS, and it’s 40%-70% faster than that of old iPhone 3G in CPU performance. Texture effects and filters are around 10X faster. That means 3GS can do better gaming with support of OpenGL ES 2.0. Note the old iPhone 3G only have the OpenGL ES 1.1. Users will feel the difference when there are more developers using OpenGL ES 2.0 for the new games. It seems S is taking to the next level of gaming.
