The problems of uploading photos to Facebook is here for a while. Now, Facebook finally fixed it. They will release the new photo uploader to everyone in the next several weeks. Installation of Facebook plug-in is required. The speed would be much faster than the current old version. Happy sharing of crazy photos with friends in the future.

The old uploader was really fast (for me at least) so it will be interesting to see how much of an improvement with this new one.
the best thing for this uploader is background upload. while photos are uploaded, we could freely browse other facebook webpages. http://tech.azuremedia.net/2010/02/06/1894/
