DO NOT use Google Chrome, because EULA sucks?

When you are having blazing speed with Google Chrome, do you know their EULA actually sucks? A lawyer found that Google Chrome have the right to capture all your information you sent through the browser. According to the section 11 of Google Chrome EULA,

By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.

Also,

You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

Clearly, Google have the permission to get everything pass through Chrome. They may not capture all the information, but they do have the permission to do so. The lawyer said this is ridiculous and people should stop using it. For instance, if you wrote a blog using Chrome web browser, Google now have the permission to copy, reproduce, publish it. You cannot say NO because you already give the permission to Chrome during installation. You know, you need to agree EULA before installation.

Worse part is that Google think that it is no big deal. Do you think every software have a EULA like Google Chrome? No. At least Firefox won’t do that.

Although Google Chrome is fast for loading speed, I will now UNINSTALL IT. This is unacceptable that Chrome have the permission to capture information I type or send. Will Chrome capture my bank account number? Tell me your thought in comments.

Edit: A reader points out that Google Chrome captures the information because they want to deliver the best Ad to you. That is, for Google Adsense. But, it is still pretty scary that Google have such permission. What do you think?

    Well, if it’s for AdSense, then they should say it. Because like that it gives them total control of your online life. I thought Chrome would be a success, now i doubt it. Too bad… !

    And they say you can “surf anonymously” !

    Chrome was fast and furious :) Too bad about the EULA. Hope Google thinks the privacy issues for once.

    Now the 11th article only includes the following statement:

    “11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.”

    Is Google walking back :=)

    I cannot find any of these in the EULA, did you verified this?

    This is why I use Chromium and not Google Chrome, and it is also why practically all the software I have installed on my computer is open source, so I don’t have to deal with stupid EULAs.
