Digg bans 80+ users

If you are “clever”, you can use scripts to push your submitted stories to the front page of Digg. But, you cannot do it anymore. Digg has banned at least 80 users who use scripts. Digg team said they don’t want any users to use those scripts in order to push the stories to the front automatically. It is prohibited.

But, there are some users who do not use those automated scripts. Some users do use the scripts for easy access. No matter why some long term Digg contributors are angry about this. Will Yahoo! Buzz take the position of popular social news website? May be not. There are still lots of people using Digg anyway.

Yahoo already sends hugely more traffic than digg; so no, it won’t take the position of popular social news website. It already has it.
