Users will be able to use the official retweet function directly from the Twitter.com. It is very close to the launch day and it may look like pictured above. The “Retweets” link may locate at the right. It may use tabs for users to choose retweet by others, yourself, and “your tweets, retweeted”. When the topic gets retweeted more than 100 times, it will show “100+” rather than the exact number.
Marcel Molina, developer of this retweet feature, said 3rd party developers may need to check whether things still work. Functionality in the API has changed.
When I look at this mockup screenshots for the first time, I feel like we don’t need Digg anymore. Using retweet to spread the interesting topics may be better and easier than Digg.
