UNCONFIRMED: Apple fix the TIFF exploit and prevent unlocking of iPhone

    jailbreakme, click to install AppSnapp.

Lots of commentators said they cannot jailbreak and unlock their recently bought iPhone successfully no matter they use Windows or Mac method. We found that in the hackint0sh forum, their are a lot of people facing the same situation. The worse thing is that they can’t jailbreak even they downgrade their iPhone. But someone managed to jailbreak successfully when they restore their iPhone completely before they start. Are you facing the same situation? Please leave us comments to let us know.

Yeh, so restore using an older .ipfw firmware file for 1.1.1 and the bug will be back. I doubt apple would waste their time fixing the bug knowing it would be this easy to re-implement it on the device (unless they are generally concerned about it from a security perspective).

I was able to finally get it back to 1.1.1 but when I go to jailbreakme.com and try to install appsnap I get redirect to a fortinet webpage that says the y.tiff file is a virus and has been quarantined. Any suggestions? (This itouch was previously jailbroken until it was restored and 1.1.4 was installed) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
