  Bought a newer iPhone today, tried to upgrade a jailbroken 1.1.1 with my original sim from first iPhone to 1.1.2 by mistake and then it tryed to make me re-activate with at&t and get a new 2-yr contract!!! Fixed it though, just recovered it into 1.0.2 veryy very happy now.

  Anyways keep the good work coming, hope to have anysim for 1.1.2 soon! I will NOT be upgrading any of my other iPhones to 1.1.2 for now because of this.

  From skimmig through, it seems to me you can only upgrade back to 1.1.1 and not 1.1.2. Correct?

  I am in US and have a new Iphone 1.1.2. I have downgraded to 1.1.1 and the modem firmware is still 1.1.2. I tried to use jailbreak but it reverts back to before I entered the commands to fix it which are in hackintosh’s guide. It goes back to
  DFU mode with the connect to itunes screen from 1.1.1. the second time around I cannot directly enter CMD prompts and have to reboot the thing all over again and Iphuc my phone. So basically I can not get my phone to add the anyapp, so I cant even install install.app.

  Can I downgrade again to 1.0.2? I will try this— see what happens in the meantime.

  I think you need to check the firmware and baseband. If the baseband not showing 04.02.13_G, than your iPhone can be used with anySIM

  It won’t be able to unlock if it has boot loader 4.6 (serial starts from 7R745, check it from your box) , but it will be able to hack it (jailbreak or install 3rd party software.)

  Thank you for this information. I am an International user with no access to the ATT network at this time. I was very disappointed Apple would condone “locking” the iPhone from its other functionality to force users to immediately activate with ATT! This is not something anyone talks about when you order one of these phones. I was able to muddle through the documents, but must say, you’d drammatically minimize the time you probably spend answering e-mails if you would just get an English speaker to translate your documents for you. Your verbiage is not good in places and also not easy to follow. There are holes in the (Windows) process and it might take a novice user several hours to figure out what to do. I had to read through every piece of documentation and after 1 1/2 days, was able to finally get it to work. Please consider refining the instructions a little bit? It’d make X-mas a lot easier on the rest of us. Thank you!

  There are thousands of comments saying the guide works perfectly. I understand my English cannot be as good as native speaker. I am always trying hard to improve it. And, I cannot write every single steps saying like, “use your finger to slide your iPhone, turn it off and than wait”.

  I am pretty sad and tired for answering those repeat questions.
  And especially, those questions that question the guide and keeps on saying this guide is not good, is not working perfectly, is missing something, my English is bad bad bad and whatsoever.

  I know my English is bad, and that’s why I open the comments system for those to ask if they can’t understand my guide.

  Ok, just to clarify to everyone,
  You can unlock 1.1.2 if u UPGRADE TO IT. i.e, if u did not have 1.1.2 out of the box.

  If you bought an iPhone that was 1.1.2 OUT OF THE BOX, then no, you CANNOT unlock it YET….(big word, YET)

  You can jailbreak and get all 3rd party apps in both phones, doesnt matter if its out of the box or not.

  Reason why you cant unlock OOB (out of the box) phones is that they have the new 4.6 bootloader, older ones have the 3.9.
  anySIM 1.2 and 1.2.1u will 99.99% not work on ur 1.1.2 OOB phone. Though there have been scattered reports (iPhone elite dev team)

  You can not press more than one single digit from the dial panel, it hangs. Although you can choose the contact that you want to dial, but it seems no point to upgrade it as it does not support number dialing.

  there is no unlock for the OTB 1.1.2 yet… Hopefully after the release of the 1.1.3 firmware… Downgrading will allow you to do the jailbreak but not full unlock yet.

  Are you attempting to activate with 1.1.1? You need to update to 1.1.2 then jailbreak with jailbreak.jar or windows.bat and it will activate instantly with AT&T

  You need to hold down the home and power button until the phone screen turns black ( the slide to power off screen will go black).. then release the power button and continue to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in recovery mode (the phone should be hooked up to your computer during all of this).. otherwise iTunes will continue to ask for you to sign up with AT&T and activate your phone. your other option is to read the ultimate iPhone page and activate using #307# and continue with the jailbreak.

  I actually don’t know if this will work now that 1.1.3 is out. I’m not sure if your phone will activate when you upgrade to 1.1.2 because iTunes may not recognize your sim. I have an OTB 1.1.2 with AT&T. I installed the 1.1.1 firmware and used jailbreak.jar on a mac to boot from recovery. From there the phone wouldn’t activate with AT&T. I did the jailbreak with jailbreakme.com and installed oktoprep, then I upgraded to 1.1.2, which at the time was the current FW. I used jailbreak.jar to jailbreak after the 1.1.2 FW was installed. It activated with AT&T immediately after the FW was finished installing. I don’t think will work anymore for the same reasons my phone wouldn’t activate with the 1.1.1 install.

  Hi! I have downgraded 1.1.1 iPhone 04.03.13_G, baseband 4.6. It used to work with next sim, but accidentally my boy upgraded it to 1.1.3 and it locked. We went back to 1.1.1 but the 1.1.2 jailbreak does not work maybe due to the new baseband. So the 1.1.1 gadget works as an ipod touch . No way to jail it to 1.1.3 an no way to make a phone again..   I have that problem where I cannot dial more than one digit before it jumps back to the home screen. I can dial out using contacts though. The only part of the unlock that I have not done is selecting a country on iworld because Bermuda is not there, is this the reason. Everything else works no problem… The phone is oob 1.1.2 and I used iturbosim v3 to unlock.
