I know it’s a little late. But, I think there are still some readers want it. If you are using iPhone 3G and Windows, you can now jailbreak it using the latest version of WinPwn. Let’s begin after the break.

Again, try it at your own risk. You need to backup all the stuff on iPhone 3G first before you do anything. (Sync your iPhone once before you begin)

Before you begin, you can download WinPwn latest version at here. Scroll down to find the download link. Make sure you uninstall the old version of WinPwn before you begin.

Step 1. If you have not downloaded the iPhone 2.0 firmware, run iTunes now. Connect iPhone, click “Restore”. It should show you to download the 2.0 firmware. Once it has started to download the firmware, disconnect the iPhone. (Prevent it to restore) Close iTunes when the download process has finished.

Step 2. Run WinPwn. Choose “Browse .ipsw”. The iPhone firmware should be at “C:\Users\[Your name]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates”. Change [Your name] to the user name you used in Vista.

Step 3. Click “IPSW builder”. In the “Applications” tab, choose “Install Cydia”. Uncheck “YouTube activation fix”.

Step 4. Click “Advanced” tab. Since most of us are using the official carrier, DO NOT check “activate iPhone” since most of us are using the official carrier. Also, do not check “No Wipe”.

Step 5. Click “Build .ipsw” to build the firmware.

Step 6. Click “iPwner”. Choose the custom firmware you built on step 5. It will say “You ITunes has been pwned”. Close “Winpwn”. Open the iTunes now. Hold down the “Shift” key, then click “restore”.

Step 7. Close WinPwn. Run iTunes now. Hold down the “shift” key, then click “restore”. Select the firmware you have build in step 6.
