Unlike iPhone, we can have the alternative choice on Google Android phone. Opera has released the first Mini 4.2 beta on Android Market. It’s very similar to other platform’s edition. You can view the website with full layout like desktop PCs.

Unlike the default browser, you need to press Menu button to choose to enter the website address. You need to press Menu and choose Okay to start to load.

When the web page is loaded, double click any part and it will zoom in. During the test, it runs smoothly. It’s better than that of default browser. In default browser, you need to press the little zoom in icon. But in Opera Mini, double click will do the job.

More after the break.

You can also choose to load high images in the settings. Opera Mini also provide the option to switch on the mobile view or choose different font size. The rendering result is pretty similar to the default browser. But, the Opera Mini provides a better experience since the web pages loads faster, and you can double click to zoom in and out. It also comes with more features like choosing the image quality.

One thing that could be a serious “bug” is that, when I enter password in the web pages, it does not turn into asterisk key in the “Enter text” window. It shows the password completely unless you quickly press Menu and okay to go back to the web page.
