This will not work for newly bought U.S. iPhone (4.6 Bootloader) and UK iPhone. It will only work for those old iPhone’s that accidentally upgraded.
Note this guide used anySIM 1.2 from elite team, that has some bugs and could brick the iPhone. someone said using anySIM 1.2.1u may make iPhone’s Wi-Fi lost. I do not recommend you to update to 1.1.2 if you feel uncomf, don’t complain or ask any question if you bricked your iPhone.
This is tested under Mac OS X 10.5.1 and iTunes 7.5. The iPhone is at 1.1.1 and unlocked with anySIM 1.1 You will be able to enable all the functions of iPhone 1.1.2. No hang for calling. YouTube enabled, too. Swap SIM card may also be possible, but needs to be tested in detail.
Pre-stage: What is your iPhone firmware?
1. If it is iPhone 1.1.1 and not unlocked, follow this guide. SKIP the anySIM part. ONLY follow step 1 – 9.
2.If it is iPhone 1.0.2 and unlocked with anySIM old version, follow this guide. After you upgraded to 1.1.1, don’t run anySIM. Skip that part.
3. If it is iPhone 1.1.1 and unlocked with anySIM 1.1, you may want to follow this guide for virgin iPhone. It may not be necessary, if you want to play safe, follow the guide and don’t run anySIM. Skip that part.
4. If you are having out of the box 1.1.2, you can use this guide (ONLY STEP 1-3) to downgrade it to 1.1.1, than come back and follow this guide to use it as iPod Touch. Skip the anySIM part as it won’t work for out of the box 1.1.2.
Stage 1: Upgrade to 1.1.2
Step 1. From the Installer, install “OktoPrep” first.
Step 2. Download 1.1.2 firmware here. Click “Option” + “Update”, it will show you a dialog box. Make sure you choose the 1.1.2 firmware file downloaded. Make sure you didn’t choose iPhone 1.1.3 firmware since 1.1.3 cannot be unlocked at the moment.
Step 3. After update is complete, download and extract this 1.1.2 jailbreak pack and run the “jailbreak.jar”. Put it on the desktop and run.
Step 4. Restart the iPhone when you see it said “finished”. After the first restart, the iPhone will automatically restart itself again. Than, it should come to springboard with Installer.app and SSH.
Step 5. Run “Installer.app” from iPhone now. Choose to install “BSD Subsystem” from the list.
Step 6. Use Fugu to connect to your iPhone now. Type the iPhone’s IP address. Enter “root” as username, “dottie” as the password (Find it from settings > Wi-Fi, choose the connected Wi-Fi’s blue arrow.)
Step 7. Download anySIM 1.2.1u from iPhone elite team. Extract it and upload it iPhone’s “/Application” folder.
Step 8. Go into “/Applications/anySIM.app”. Right-click “anySIM” binary and choose “Get Info”. Type in 755 in the field. You must click “Apply” even you see that it comes with 755 already.
Step 9. Restart your iPhone by slide to turn off and turn it on.
Step 10. Switch on the “Airplane” mode from Settings. Run the anySIM from the iPhone now.
Step 11. When it says unlock successful, restart the iPhone. Your iPhone should pick the carrier signal now.
Stage 2: Fix the phone dialing hang and enable international keyboard
Step 12. Run “Installer.app” from iPhone now. Choose to install “BSD Subsystem” from the list.
Step 13. Click the “source” tab from “Installer”. Choose “Sources”, click “Edit” and than click “add”. Type “http://cynix.org/iphone.plist”. Remember to click “Done” and than click “refresh”.
Step 14. Choose “Tweaks (1.1.2)” from “Install” tab. And install “iWorld” and “More keyboards for 1.1.2″. After you install “More keyboards for 1.1.2″, it will tell you restart the iPhone. Don’t restart it now. Actually we will restart it after running iWorld in step 16-17.
Step 15. Go back to springboard. Run “iWorld”. Choose your country from the list. Apply the setting by clicking “Okay. let’s do it”.
Step 16. Wait for a few seconds, it will tell you to restart.After all, your iPhone works properly.
Stage 3: Custom ringtones
Step 17. Actually the old SendSong 0.21e still works for 1.1.2, so install it from “Multimedia” of “Installer.app”.
Step 18. Create a new playlist in iTunes. Put your ringtone files in it. Remember to convert them into m4a files. Delete the mp3 files from the list.
Step 19. Sync it to iPhone. Than, run the SendSong program, send it as ringtone and you’re done.
Thanks for this Ultimate Guide. I just fully unlocked to 1.1.2 and all work great. I updated from an unlocked 1.1.1 (04.01.13_G).
At the Step 6, the password used in Fugu is not “dottie” but “alpine” if you can’t etablished the connection.
Now I am ready for the 1.1.3, I hope to found an also easy solution for the next update.

sir i i got my phone locked whrn trying to upgrade to 1.1.2. now i did all like downgrading to 1.1.1 and all the process till anysim installation. as a last step after copyin anyaim and while installing it after a restart i juz for got to change it to airplane mode and now my phone got struck with apple screen as we see it in startup …. kindly help me plz . tryed to restart but still the same. can also see tht round curser moving

Ah!!!! Really can’t help here. I think you need to put it in DFU mode and try to restore it to 1.1.1 and unlock.

I had the same broblem.
Follow this steps:
Open the latest version on ituness
Plug your iphone on computer with the dock.
Press for 20 sec the two butons of iphone.
You will see on itunes a message about recover mode on your iphone
Press restore and thats all.
Your iphone is still alive but locked again!!!!

My Phone is jailbroken. I have 1.1.2. I need iWorld as the keyboard crashes, but for some reason I don’t have iWorld under the 1.1.2. tweaks (in fact that is missing at all). How would I be able to download that specific program without going through the whole process again? SMS, web, mail etc. all work…

Hi, I got an iPhone unlocked and it works fine so far. When I check with BBinfo, it shows that the iPhone’s firmware is 1.1.2, baseband 4.02.13, bootlaoder 4.6 and S/N week 48. I don’t use any TurboSim or alike. So I guess that my iPhone was unlocked with the hardware method. In that case, my bootlaoder should now be 3.9 and not 4.6 as BBinfo displays. Am I correct? what’s wrong here?
Hi admin team, my unlocked iphone 1.0.2 is dropping the carrier in sleep-mode. So it does not wake up and the caller get the message “called number is currently not available”. Only when it is connected to charge, it will hold the carrier signal, even in sleep-mode. Otherwise all works nice. Thank You for Your assistance.
