If you missed important SMS a lot, there is a recent new program in Installer of iPhone (I hope you should know about jailbreak stuff…) called SMSNotify. You can also install in through Utilities. This little tool will not show up after installation. It runs in the background. When you have unread SMS, the iPhone will vibrate for every 15 seconds. Default settings only gives you a small sound and one -time vibration. Who can feel about unread SMS without this little tool.
I was wondering, if this tool is running in the background, does it have much of a hit on the battery life?

Hmm.. Not really sure. I think if you read your unread SMS, this tool will not run and will not hit your battery life.
