Karaoke synced lyrics inside iPhone’s iPod.app

TuneWiki is already an amazing application which shows the lyrics synced with the time. It does not modify iPhone’s iPod.app and works as a standalone application. weLyrics is a better and new application which works like a plugin for iPod.app.

After installation, restart iPhone (I restarted a few couple times to make sure the changes are made). Run the weLyrics.app on the springboard. Select and choose to enable weLyrics. Click Save.

Run iPod.app now, play any song. Click the album once. It will display the lyrics like above. If it does not work, restart the iPhone.

I tested and it works with Chinese, Japanese and also English songs. Most of the popular POP songs’ lyrics can be found, but note you need GPRS/EDGE or Wi-Fi connection to search for the lyrics. Switch off if you don’t have unlimited online plan.

To install, add “http://app.weiphone.com/installer” as the installer source. Select “weLyrics” from “weiphone” category. During the test, weLyrics looks not so stable currently. So, ues it with caution.

weLyrics works better than TuneWiki since it integrates with iPhone’s internal program. It is convenient for users to control the music playing. You can also delete the lyrics downloaded by clicking the right bottom logo. Video demo after the break.

If only it worked… this is pretty buggy. try to flip covers – you will either get stuck or be 17 lines behind on the timing. also this hardly have any popular song I have on my iPhone. There is not a single song on my iPhone missing TuneWiki lyrics.

Not even close, it is not better than TuneWiki. the iPod on the phone itself is not better than TuneWiki as now TuneWiki have a community button and a free build in lyrics search even for songs I don’t have!

    Josh & Mike,

I found that it is unstable as I mentioned in the article, but weLyrics works well in my iPhone. Just wanna to make sure you 2 understand this is only my personal comment by saying “Better than TuneWiki”, you guys can disagree it completely, but just don’t get too angry if you found the program that does not fit for you personally. :)

Comments are always welcomed. I also want to thank you 2 leave some comments for the post. (Most of the readers didn’t and I hope they will. )

…whooo… it got my iPhone stuck 3 times in a raw…i took it off ….could find only one song, it looked ok when it worked, funny program,,,takes out your phone number, it is a Chinese company, probaly pirates, i would not be surprised if i will start toget unwanted messages on the phone… they are probably not paying royalties for the lyrics as well…
