You should probably know about iPhone next firmware 1.1.3 new feature from the news. I think most of all will not upgrade to 1.1.3 even it is available because this firmware update probably bricks unlocked iPhone 1.1.2. Here is a short tutorial to show you how to enhance existing iPhone 1.1.2 with next firmware’s features.
Note you must know how to jailbreak iPhone and use Installer.app. If you are not, you may wish to take a look of the iPhone ultimate guide page.
1. Enhance the SMS function with iSMS
The iPhone’s SMS function is weak, even sending SMS to multiple people is not allowed. From the Installer, you can install iSMS tool. The iSMS is from China and enhance the SMS function of iPhone. You can send the SMS to multiple people easily by tapping “+” button. You can also forward the SMS to multiple people through iSMS. iSMS also comes with search function. A must tool for every iPhone user.
2. GPS function with Navizon
From iPhone 1.1.3, Google Map comes with Locate Me feature which shows where you are right now. Navizon uses a similar technology which detects your location using nearby cellular or Wi-Fi signal station. You need to create an account on Safari after you install it from Installer.app.
3. Add web apps to home screen with Web 2.0 site
In iPhone 1.1.3, you can bookmark your favourite website to main home screen. You can actually do the same in iPhone 1.1.2. Access iPhone Apper from desktop PC, than input the necessary information including favourite site’s URL, custom icon and the bookmark title. You can now push the “App Me” button to generate a program.
Upload the program to iPhone’s “/Application” folder and restart your iPhone. You will see the favourite URL on screen now. It works just like iPhone 1.1.3.
4. Re-arrange icons with Customize
You may probably put some web apps on the home screen or installed a lot of programs. To re-arrange according to your preference, you can use Customize. Install Customize from Installer.app’s Utilities. Customize is a very complete customization tool for every parts of iPhone. You can change the carrier logo, bars image, edge icon, airplane icon and so much more. To re-arrange the icon, click “Icon Display Order”, and choose “Manual Reorder” to re-order like iPhone 1.1.3.

I’m new to Apple and hence to the iPhone too …
I created a bookmark app with iPhone Apper and transferred the unzipped .tar to the /Applications folder. After the reboot of my iPhone I can see the new icon, however, Safari doesn’t get launched with the URL – there’s only a black screen, which after approx 20 secs disappears and the SpringBoard shows again.
I’ve got an activated & jailbreaked 1.1.2 iPhone.
Any hints, why the bookmark app doesn’t run as it should?

Oh. I find this problem too with Firefox. Try to use Internet Explorer or Safari to create your own app.

However, I did find out that WinSCP did transfer the files with the permission of 0644 instead of 0755 – rectifying this, did solve the problem …
