After the preview of Twitterrific 2.0 video, it’s here at the App Store. It still provides free version with support of ads, so everyone can enjoy all the exciting new features. Twitterrific 2.0 is even more powerful than the desktop client like Seesmic. You can quote and retweet in a very easy way. There’s also possibility to shorten text in a smart way. These great features makes me can’t stop tweeting.
Take a look of more after the break.
1. Nice user interface improvement
Twitterific 2.0 now supports multiple accounts. Click Edit in the main interface and you will be able to add more. After you click the account name, it will show the timeline immediately. There’s four icon at the bottom which is pretty easy to understand. From left to right, they are refresh, start a new tweet, more user action and filtering.
It’s smart that Twitterrifc 2.0 hide other Twitter functions like direct messages, favourites and more in the filtering button. It makes the interface clearer without too much buttons. Click the button and you will be able to read those tweet related to your account name.

In some circumstances, we want to enlarge the text. There’s a button on the top right which can turn the text to be bigger or smaller. Turning the text smaller lets you to read more tweets. The best part I love is that you can read your profile information by clicking your user name at the top of navigation bar.

2. Tweet/Retweet is very convenient
When there’s a good tweet, press the * button on the toolbar. It will show a menu for you to retweet. In Tweetie, it uses “(via)” format for retweet. But, in Twitterrific 2.0, I can choose whether I use the standard “RT” or “(via)”. That may be a minor part for other uses, but that’s important to me. By the way, the menu lets you to share the link with email or bookmark it to favourites.

When you are going to start a new tweet, there’s a little tap bar which you can switch from direct tweet, retweet or direct messages. Click the eye button and you can view the timeline. Click those hotlinks on the timeline, and the text will be copied to the tweet window. It is useful when you want to quote the source.

Twitter has 140 word limit, and everyone knows that. Some service on the internet can help to shorten the text by trimming it and add an extra link. Followers need to click the extra link for the complete message. Twitterrific do it in another way. It shortens some common words like “Thursday” to “Thur”. Note it only works when you have reached the maximum limit. It won’t compress text if you write “This is Thursday” in a new tweet.

3. Shortcut actions
Twtterrific 2.0 provides high customization. It grouped some options as “advanced” in settings, makes general users can get start with it easily. In the advanced settings, you can set theme, photo quality and even shortcuts. Shortcuts is the way to use the iPhone multi-touch wisely. It supports up to triple tap.

Icon Factory has built the nice interface with great design. It’s such a powerful Twitter client on the iPhone. Tweeting and Retweeting is so convenient now. Those new features suits Twitterholic’s need. They don’t need to spend time to copy source, think how to fits the 140 limit and how to view user’s detail. I can’t stop myself to launch the Twitterrific when I am free.
