To search Google quickly, drag the text on Safari dock. In Mac OS X, select the text you want to search in any program, when the mouse cursor turned into arrow, drag it. Drag the text on the Safari icon like above, the Safari will launch and perform Google search.

Firefox 3 is fast. Even thought it is not as fast as Safari 4, Firefox 3 is good enough. For Mac users, Neil Bruce Lee built a Firefox 3 optimized build for Intel/G5 Mac. Since it is optimized, the software runs faster. It also loads the site quickly.

Download the build right here. Choose which build you want. Be ware that add-ons and themes may break, so do a backup. Note the optimized build will not overwrite the existing Firefox 3 installed, since it is called as “Minefield”. The reason why the icon and the name is not the same as official Firefox 3 is to prevent the legal problems.

Firefox 3 has been released. Have you participated the World Record Campaign? One of the new features is the awesome URL bar. For instance, if you typed “w” in the address bar, it will display all the related page you visited or bookmarked. It helps to select the site you want to visit quickly.

But, not everyone loves the new and huge awesome URL bar. To disable it, type “about:config” to enter to the Firefox 3 configuration page. Click the button and accept the warning. Then, type “browser.urlbar.maxRichResults”.

Then, edit the value to 0. Restart the Firefox. The URL bar won’t display the related sites.

Sometimes photos just don’t fit the screen resolution, when we set it as wallpaper, it will be distorted. It makes the photo look fat. Ducklet is a Windows software which can crop and resize photos, and then set it as wallpaper quickly.

Ducklet will not modify original file. It will create a new copy of photo. It supports common image format including png, jpg, wmf, tif and more.

It is not a free software. It costs US$19.95. Would that be too much?

Free-PDF-to-Word is a freeware that can help to convert the PDF files back to Word or RTF documents. It supports batch conversion and the process is fast. It claims the conversion is accurate. It does not require any Adobe reader software to finish the job.

During the test, the conversion of the PDF document is sucess. But, there are still some minor alignment problem. I cannot say it is 100% accurate, but still useful, though.

The software is available for Windows only.

For Mac users who use BootCamp and run Windows, you may find that the clock always wrong after getting back to Mac OS X from Windows. To fix it you need to pop up the Date & Time Settings and update the information from the internet.

TUAW explains the way to fix this using Apple Script. Compile the following script and put it in Applications folder, then set it to Login items in System Preferences. The clock will be set to the right time everytime you used Windows and boot in Mac OS X.

Hitman, the top selling and hit video game, has been reproduced in movie released in 2007. “Hitman” movie is talking about an agent who are fighting of evil. The customer reviews are all very positive. This movie has just released DVD on iTunes for rental, and you need to pay US$14.99 to buy it.

Well, thanks to our readers found the tip to get this movie completely free. In iTunes, click iTunes store, look for the “Browse” on Quick Links in the right hand side. Than, select “Movies” and then “Thriller”. Look for the title “Hitman”. You will see it is free (as pictured above) for the whole version at 1.06GB. I can download it and watch it successfully. Not sure whether it is something new or a bug of iTunes. Worth to try now if you have iTunes account which can be created completely free. YouTube videos can be downloaded with many softwares. If you don’t want to install the software to grab the video, right click to add this “Get YouTube Video” bookmark. You can also drag it to the bookmark bar if using Firefox or Safari.
