HTC Dream with Google Android is supposed to be an amazing internet device. You need to put all the data on the web since there is no desktop application, currently. So, HTC Dream is supposed to have a heavy use of data transfer. But, T-Mobile wants to restrict your data usage. T-Mobile wrote you can only use 1GB data transfer, if you use more of it, the speed will be dramatically reduced to 50Kbps. That’s even slower than EDGE. Even though T-Mobile said they are offering unlimited plan, the truth is that it is not really “unlimited”.

Funnerer, Connecteder, Smarterer. These are the words using in the first Google Android ad. You know what, nowadays teenagers (some, I should say.) does not really care about correct English. Google Android ad wants to show you that they are fun and easy to use. Will this attract young users? Will this make the HTC Dream “hip” and “trendy”?

The first Google Android powered phone has just officially launched. It is by T-Mobile called HTC Dream (or T-Mobile G1). It’s smooth, running 3G and have lots of applications. The price and plans are also cheap and affordable. The interface is also finger-friendly and you can press and hold for more options. You can type and chat with friends using the QWERTY keyboard. It will be coming soon in 22nd of October in selected T-Mobile stores. Will you buy it? Please choose:

Google Maps on HTC Dream will be fun. The feature video shows us there will be Street View available. Users navigate through the streets, click it and it will show a small thumbnail. Click the thumbnail and you will be able to view the photo in full screen. Use your finger and you will be able to navigate. Cool.

During the live demo of Google Android, we can clearly see that there is “Amazon MP3″. This is actually a music subscription service by Amazon. Amazon has announced their software will be preloaded in T-Mobile’s first Google Android phone G1. Users will be able to search, buy and download music right on the phone. There are 4 major labels and over 6 millions songs. Good stuff for G1 users.

May be Google co-founder Sergey is the iPhone user. He came up the stage and talks about Google Android phone HTC Dream. He said he wrote an app and not sure whether it will be available in “App Store”. Okay. I don’t know whether he forgot the name of Google’s App Store is actually “Android Market”, or whether he loves iPhone too much.

Do you wonder whether the desktop application of Google Android support Windows or Mac? No more wonders. There are no desktop application for Google Android. May be Google want us to do all the stuff online using their service. May be…

But, it only happens initially. I am pretty sure that they will bring the sync program to us very soon.

We are very concerned about Google Android price and plans. Google Android powered HTC dream is actually cheap. It is only $179 with 2 year contract. The plan for US customers is also cheap, too. $25 for unlimited data and some messaging. $35 for unlimited data and messaging. It will be available on 22 October. It will across UK in November, and across Europe in 2009. There will be SIM lock too. What about other countries? Unknown.

Google has showed us about how their Android works in HTC Dream. It works using “long press”. For instance, when you long press the web browser, you will be able to have a extra menu for options. It does not like iPhone. Google Android lets you to copy link URL and more. “long press” in other Google Android applications also lets you to choose extra options.

Google wins iPhone for this great feature!
