The non-sense US$999.99 app is now removed from App Store. For Windows Mobile users, if you guys want to join the party, try this one. A developer ported the software to Windows Mobile. Download it and unzip. It’s an exe file and you can execute it directly. Well, this software is just for fun and is free. You can donate $999.99 to developer if you really want to be “I am rich”.


HTC Touch Diamond features a special edition of Opera browser that works like iPhone Safari. It renders and loads the webpage like what we see on the desktop. Other Windows Mobile device also have the Opera Mini, but it is just not as good as the HTC Touch Diamond’s Opera.
The Opera 9.5 from HTC Touch Diamond is extracted. It can be run in any QVGA or VGA devices. It loads the webpage completely, and you can double tap to zoom in and out. You can flick around the webpage. It is running very smoothly. Full screen viewing is also available.
Opera 9.5 public beta for Windows Mobile will be available very soon. It is not exclusive for HTC Touch Diamond. It is definitely better than Opera Mini since Opera 9.5 runs much faster. Highly recommended since Internet Explorer from Windows Mobile really sucks. Finally, there is a good web browser for every Windows Mobile users.

Spb Backup 2.0 has released. Not only the interface is changed, the new version brings a really good feature which is the support of “Device Upgrade Mode”. When you want to throw away the old Windows Mobile device, use Spb Backup 2.0 to backup first. Then, restore the data to your new device with Spb Backup 2.0.
Spb Backup 2.0 also supports “ROM Upgrade Mode”. It means when you want to upgrade your existing device’s ROM, you will be able to use the software to backup and restore data later on.

There are lots of people are using Windows Mobile. They don’t want to through it away for an iPhone because Windows Mobile is still powerful. In the past, we need to download a bunch of tools for emulating the interface looks like iPhone, and now things are easier.
iFonz is a facelift to make Windows Mobile looks like iPhone. It is easy to setup and some of the icons are still keeping the Windows Mobile’s style. When you tap on the icon, it has the animation which acts like iPhone. If the icons look better, it will be more attractive.

Google has introduced a new plugin for Windows Mobile users that can search stuff right on the home screen. They have similar product introduced to Symbian before, and now it comes to Windows Mobile. To install, users just need to go to “mobile.google.com” on their device and choose to download the plugin. After all, you will see something similar above and able to search with Google quickly and easily.

Do you write diary everyday? Pocket Finance Diary is the book for writing your finance record everyday. This program have a clear interface to show the income, expenses and total. It uses database files for storing entries which means will not hurt the registry. Unlike other professional finance software, Pocket Finance Diary only needs to input the amount, type (income or expenses) and date when adding new records. No complicated and unknown functions in this program.

We all know Windows Mobile 6 Professional and Classic have a soft keyboard which is not finger-friendly. And I don’t like taking out the little pen to type. CooTek TouchPal is a freeware (for personal use) which enhances the touch experience of Windows Mobile. It enhances the touch experience by adding a virtual QWERTY keyboard. Every special designed button represents 3-4 letters. For instance, if you want to input letter “x”, press the button (like above) and then slide right to input letter “x”.
TouchPal also supports auto correction and word association. That’s why it claims typing 300chars/min. While 300 chars/min seems not so possible for general users, this TouchPal should be the stuff included in next Windows Mobile.

Not all the devices get Windows Mobile 6 upgrade. Dell users are the unlucky one to get that officially. Apparently most users do want the upgrade, but you know, Dell didn’t release any announcement yet. No hope? Not really as there are so many great and dedicated developers in the world, here we comes, the unoffical Dell x50v WM6 Upgrade. Many users reported that it works perfectly but try it at your own risk.
