Apple said iPhone 2G hardware can’t handle MMS, but the truth is not. There are plenty of tutorials that helps to enable iPhone 2G MMS, but it would be complicated for some users. If you have jailbroken the iPhone, you can just enable it with simple installation. Find “ActivateMMS2G” in Cydia. It’s in the iSpazio Source. If you can’t find it, install iSpazio from “Repositories”. Install “ActivateMMS2G” and restart the iPhone. Configure the MMS server settings in “Settings” > “General” > “Network” > “Cellular Data Network”. You are done.
The best way to share multimedia content of iPhone is to connect it with external monitor. But, it’s not that convenient. MiLi Pro is the upcoming iPhone projector, which lets you to project or display the multimedia content anywhere to any big white space. It works with videos, podcasts and more. Hope it can be used for presentation. The maximum output is 40 inch so it would be very big. MiLi Pro is so small and portable. It would be available in September this year. Hope it won’t be too expensive because I planned to get one already.
After the first trick to show battery percentage, have you ever thought to turn iPhone 3G to become more like 3GS? Cydia has the new app called “Compass”. It’s not actually a compass. It’s a fake app that does not do anything. The numbers will not move, and you won’t be able to choose any settings. Click the bottom left button and it will bring up the Maps. The target location is the Apple HQ. If this fake app can randomly show some number and move the picture according to the accelerometer, it would be perfect.

Hottest Girls, the $1.99 App, has an major upgrade. It now features lots of hot girls that are nude. I mean there are topless photos in the App. It is now available at the App Store. It is rated 17+ with warning. It seems Apple is okay with porn apps now. Boobies. Boobies and more boobies. Will there be more porn apps with videos in the near future? Can’t wait to see that happen.

iPhone 3GS can show you the battery percentage on the top right. It’s much clearer by only watching the green bar. It can be switched on and off in “Settings” > “General” > “Usage”. But, you can’t find that in iPhone 2G/3G even it’s upgraded to 3.0. I don’t understand why Apple enable it in 3GS only, is that about hardware problem again? I am pretty sure it’s not.
Thanks to the jailbreak and SSH. You can enable the option like the 3GS by editing the system file. Follow the steps after the break. It’s native and much better than using other 3rd party software like SBSettings to view the percentage. Note you should blame no one if anything goes wrong.
The new iPhone firmware 3.0 jailbreak tool is here. Unofficial application Cycorder is the tool that lets you record videos in firmware 2.2.1. Now it is updated to 0.9-6 and works under firmware 3.0. That means without spending lots of money for 3GS, you can also record videos in iPhone 2G/3G with the latest firmware. First, jailbreak it with PwnageTool 3.0. Then, search Cycorder in Cydia.
But, admit it. Cycorder can only record videos with 15fps. 3GS has a higher quality of 30fps. In addition, 3GS can edit videos in the iPhone directly.
It looks pretty cool. But my old case will still works work iPhone 3GS, so I don’t really need to change.

It’s here. And it’s earlier than expected. MobileMe provides the Find My iPhone new feature to subscribed users today. If you have lost the iPhone already, go to the last tab of MobileMe and choose Find My iPhone. During the test, the area shown is pretty huge. It seems not so possible to find your iPhone in such a big area. Although it requires iPhone to keep online in order to locate it, I find it’s still useful since it provide the last chance to protect your data by wiping all the data remotely.
Note Find My iPhone feature requires iPhone firmware 3.0. That means existing users will need to wait for the official upgrade on June 17th.

The nearly finished iPhone firmware 3.0 is here. The latest beta is called as 3.0 GM Seed (7A341). I was spending a few hours to try out this latest beta and found that it is really smooth and responsive like 2.2.1. All features and options are here. Compare to the previous beta 5, the biggest difference is that iPhone 3.0 GM Seed have fixed lots of bugs. It’s more stable. For the SMS app, the latest 3.0 GM Seed added a nice photo camera icon on the left. It lets users to choose and select photos more easily.
Now the iTunes Music Store is available for users to download or preview movies, TV shows and music videos directly. You can now also redeem iTunes Gift Card on iPhone. Let’s take a look of all the updated screenshots after the break.
