Yet another iPad Orchestra

September 1st, 2010

The iPad Orchestra from Alex Shpil on Vimeo.

Four musicians in this video has used the Seline HD iPad app to play the piece “Sweet Dream”. There are lots of musicians have tried to play music using the iPad or iPhone, and things are getting to be a common thing. No one wants to carry heavy instruments.

Cloud2go: Grab the files on iPhone from the popular CloudApp

September 1st, 2010

CloudApp is my personal favorite tool for sharing files. Install the app for Mac, and press the hot keys to upload files to the cloud quickly. CloudApp have plans to provide official iPhone app soon but I can’t wait any longer. CloudApp has provided API which makes unofficial app possible. Cloud2go (US$1.99) could be the first that are already available on the App Store.

Cloud2go has categorized the files automatically. If the iPhone is supported, you will be able to browse it automatically. For audio files, it will be playing in background. Streaming is supported for playing audio and video files. That would be great for uploading more songs on the CloudApp and listen to them on-the-go. Note video files can be downloaded and saved on the iPhone’s Camera Roll.

You can always upload the video and photos from media library. Sadly, it doesn’t support HD video upload. CloudApp is a quick and easy sharing for Mac fans, there is no reason not to have the iPhone app like Cloud2go.

2 SIM cards for the iPhone 4 is possible

August 29th, 2010

Personally I will buy one prepaid SIM when I am traveling abroad. This is cheaper than that using international roaming. Instead of remove the SIM tray manually, you can use this iPhone 4 Dual SIM Adapter Case for US$28.99.

Put the SIM cards on the tool and it can connect with the iPhone 4 like pictured above. Due to the limitation of iPhone 4 software, you can have both SIM cards active at the same time. However, you can easily switch to any SIM card in the Application Menu. One more photo after the break.

720tube free iPhone app aims for uploading HD videos to YouTube

August 29th, 2010

It makes hard to understand when the iPhone 4 doesn’t allow users to upload 720p HD videos directly. Luckily, Apple allow developers to make apps to solve the problem. Pixelpipe HD (free) is the first solution we have heard, and now we got another app called 720tube (free).

Comparing with Pixelpipe, the interface design of 720tube is much simpler. It is easier to choose the media we want to upload also. No need to click “Load more” or whatever. Enter the account information, choose the video and type in the information, then click upload video. Unlike Pixelpipe, no extra registration or login is required.

Play pinball with real controls and feelings

August 25th, 2010

It’s always good to have additional physical controls when playing iPhone games. Pinball Magic has combined the hardware and software. Hardware is priced at US$39.99. Put your iPhone in the cabinet and download the freeware from the App Store. Pinball Magic supports tilt detection, tilt warning and activation, so there is no difference from the classic pinball machine.

Decal for iPhone 4 that makes people think you are holding it wrong

August 23rd, 2010

Don’t get me wrong. I am not talking the iPhone 4 reception again. I am talking about this interesting Calling Decal. As you can see, it makes people feel that you are holding the phone in a wrong way. The lovely thing is that it provides different choices like calling from “Einstein”, “Cliton”, “Kim Jong”, “Steve Jobs” and many other famous people.

Homer wants to eat the iPhone 4 Apple logo

August 22nd, 2010

Simpsons’ Homer loves donuts. I don’t know he loves Apple also. This sticker fits the iPhone 2G, 3GS and 4. It also explains the reason why there is a bite on the Apple logo.

Initial support for iPad: Edit photos with Photoshop Express and huge screen

August 14th, 2010

Photoshop is now available on the iPad. As you may expect, it’s just the Photoshop Express (free) but not the real Photoshop from desktop. However, it’s still good when it comes with a huge screen. The app was first available in the iPhone, and with the recent update, it is now compatible with the iPad also.

The features are pretty similar to the iPhone version. In the first screen of the app, it shows some tips and suggestions. You can connect to the Photoshop Express and Facebook account if wished. Otherwise, just start editing the photos in the “Edit” tab.

Select the effects you want to use at the bottom toolbar. Some of the effects can be done by swiping finger from left to right, and some others will provide extra customization at the top. After you have finished, click save at the top. I am hoping to see Adobe to bring the features like Layers, Channels, Paths and more on the iPad version.
