After you installed the applications on iPhone/iPod Touch, Apple can disable them remotely. This may be useful if there are any unstable or malicious apps. But, it has raised a serious privacy concern. If you don’t want the app to be removed suddenly, you can jailbreak the iPhone first, then install BossPrefs from Cydia. Choose “More” from BossPrefs. Click “Disable Apple App Killswitch”. You are now “safe” from Apple, at least in iPhone/iPod Touch firmware 2.0.1.

Currently, if you want to jailbreak the iPhone 2G or 3G with firmware 2.0.1, you need to create a custom firmware first, then restore iPhone using iTunes. This may be not so convenient for users who have upgraded to 2.0.1 before the jailbreak tool released a new version.

iPhone Dev Team is so nice that they have made another tool called QuickPwn. Download it here and extract it, you will find there are DOS batch file. Run the iPhone 2G or 3G. It will show up a command screen. Then, follow the on screen instruction and iPhone will soon be jailbroken with Cydia. Remember, try it at your own risk.

Google has launched Adsense for Feeds. After FeedBurner becomes Google’s company, they are now doing something to generate more money. For those who have Google Adsense account, choose “Adsense for Setup”. Then, choose “Adsense for Feeds”. You need to follow some steps to integrate it with your FeedBurner account. But, the integration system is currently closed. That means we still need to wait. Will “Adsense for Feeds” available for all feeds rather than FeedBurner only? We don’t know.

Safari can only help to save images. If you have jailbroken the iPhone, you can now even save more kinds of files to the storage. With the recent “Safari Download Plug-In” available in Cydia, you can save different kinds of files in the storage on-the-go. It is a famous plugin for firmware 1.1.4, and they are now supporting the firmware 2.0/2.0.1. The files will be saved in “/var/mobile/Library/Downloads” folder.
