Compare to the plan we know in Canada and UK, Hong Kongers are so lucky. Starting at US$24 monthly fee, their local operator 3HK offered 1000 minutes talk time (500 minutes basic, 500 minutes heart-to-heart. Heart-to-heart means talking to friends who are using 3HK) and 500 MB data plan. Currently, I am not 100% sure whether it is the world’s cheapest plan, but it is definitely a good deal to customers comparing to the local AT&T. Right?
The top plan is only at US$64 dollars. It is still slight cheaper than that of AT&T starting plan. 3HK already offers unlimited plan with thousands of minutes talk time.
In case you don’t know, if you choose HK$188 plan above, you need to pay US$377 for the iPhone, and extra US$233 for the prepayment. The US$233 extra prepayment will be refunded monthly through the entire 2 year contract.
Note the currency I used. If you want to calculate yourself, divide the above plans dollars with 7.8 (Since US$1 = HK$7.8).

Bill Gates has been officially retired. And this is the photo found from Flickr recently. Look, he is wearing Apple shirt! People, look closer. I think it is a Photoshop thing, the light on Bill Gates face looks weird. Take a look of the neck, it looks it is connected by Photoshop. Do you think so?

Some marketing department people do not know about technology, and that is why silly mistakes can be made. TigerDirect.com’s department is one of them. They write “Google Operating System” as “gOS”. We all know gOS is not actually made by Google, it is just a Linux distro. The long form of gOS is Good OS. It features with lots of Google Web 2.0 Apps, but it is not developed by Google.Take a look of the screenshot above, I think TigerDirect.com may notice that and correct it later.

If you still think installing Linux on PC is complicated, you may be wrong. Many people want to try Linux, but want to keep the existing Windows. Dual booting Windows XP and Linux is not that hard. Take a look of the steps in Linux-Talkz, you only need 4 steps to install 3 OSes on PC. That is, triple boot. From the source, it said,
1. Make a partition for Windows XP (SP2) which is about 2/3 size of the whole hard drive;
2. Install Windows XP into it;
3. Install Fedora 9 into the remaining space of the hard drive;
(* Now you can dual boot with both Windows XP and Fedora 8, grub loader *)
4. Now boot up from Windows XP, after it has loaded insert the Ubuntu 8.04 desktop installation CD, the installation prompt (GUI) will pop up. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the Ubuntu 8.04 into the machine within Windows environment (Thank Ubuntu for this genius design!), the triple boot PC is born!
Seems pretty easy.

The calculator in the current firmware 1.1.4 is not good. We will have a better one in the upcoming iPhone 2.0. While we are waiting for the new firmware, Installer has a program called “GoodCalculator” in the “Productivity” category. It looks similar to the default calculator, but it comes with more features. You can calculate +/- and % value easily. If you typed any incorrect numbers, click the “<-” icon. It is slightly better than the default, right?
Thanks to the upcoming iPhone 2.0 App Store, it makes the mobile phone more useful. Special agents loved it. See, tap the iPhone app and bomb the whole building. Easy, quick and clean. Will iPhone appear in the next James Bond movies?

MobileMe has been announced in WWDC, and it will be available very soon. MobileMe uses a brand new domain name “me.com”. Old .Mac users email will be transferred to MobileMe very soon. That is, if you are using username@mac.com, you can now also use username@me.com as the email address. Some users may found it is not working, since it takes time for the complete transition.

Looks like users in Canada very angry about Rogers Canada iPhone 3G data plan. It is because it is too expensive, and no unlimited data plans available. We have Fuck You Rogers site (They have changed the name to RuinediPhone), and now we have the petition right here at PetitionOnline. No matter you live in Canada or not, let’s support the Canadian Apple fans.
The RuinediPhone site now have over 3000 diggs. And the petition is now over 7000 signatures. Let’s see whether Rogers know about it, and change their decision.
The upcoming iPhone firmware 2.0 may not bring any major changes of SMS feature. I really hope this kind of HOLOTEXT feature is real. Isn’t it cool if a virtual guy speaks all the messages you received, is it?
