The new U.S. iPhone (starts from week 45) and all the UK iPhone now cannot be unlocked with existing unlock method around all the internet. They came with 4.6 bootloader You may downgrade to 1.1.1, but the phone function cannot be unlocked. Recently, a hackint0sh user TA_Mobile dumped the 4.6 bootloader. The dump now existed to download, but it should not be used with end user.
So, what will it mean? Since existing “bbupdater” command cannot touch or modify the bootloader, after dumping the 4.6 bootloader, the decoder and programmer can try to hack it for unlocking. This news means a lot of help to them.

RAF1 started an interesting topic about how Apple unlocks the iPhone officially. The answer is pretty simple. Apple will add your iPhone’s IMEI to their store’s server (white list), so that it will pass the activation and get unlocked. And yes, the iPhone is sold at EUR$999. So, will it help for iPhone Dev Team for future unlock? Who knows.
997TT added:
1. you go to a local T-Mobile shop and ask for an unlocked iPhone for 999 Euro
2. the sales person calls a special number at T-Mobile to pass on the IMEI for the iPhone to be unlocked (alternative: the customer calls but it isn’t recommended because it could delay the process)
3. T-Mobile sends the IMEI of the iPhone to be unlocked to Apple
4. Apple flags the IMEI on their servers as “unlocked”

This is not the first time they makes joke with Windows. But this time is much more creative. You can see a huge Apple advertorial in some of the web pages including Engadget, CNET and PCMag. The best thing is that a banner on the top actually reacts with the advertorial on the right. If you still can’t get the idea, play the video. Hate Apple always makes joke with Vista?

We guess you should know about anySIM. anySIM is a program that can free and unlock your iPhone. It lets you to use any carrier but needs some hacking.
Now the unlock somehow becomes official. German court has issued an order to T-Mobile (which signed an exclusive deal with Apple) to sell unlocked iPhone immediately. Thanks to Vodafone in Germany files this suit to free the iPhone officially. But there is a catch. The unlocked T-Mobile iPhone is much more expensive, but somehow it may help the hackers to understand the unlock procedure more clearly, so that iPhone can be easily unlocked in the future. Since this is a court order, that could also mean those unlocked T-Mobile iPhone can be updated in the future without waiting the new unlock program.
Here is the table to compare the cost for official unlocked iPhone and anySIM unlocked iPhone. Leave us a comment if we made any mistakes or you want to add something into the table.
